Very comfortable and cozy.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hat uns bestens mit gutem Frühstück versorgt. Die Lage ist sehr gut, nur 10 min zur Innenstadt und zu Christ Church zu Fuß. Unser Zimmer lag direkt an der sehr befahrenen Straße, daher etwas laut. Man könnte die Fenster nicht öffnen zum Lüften. Sonst alles bestens und wir würden sehr gerne wieder kommen.

Little gem of a place 10 minutes walk from the centre. Clean, Functional. Cheap. Free parking. Tea/coffee/biscuits (life saver last night when I was craving sweet) / hairdryer. Everything I needed!! I come every term to collect my child and will definitely stay again.

This guesthouse was amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room well appointed and extremely clean. Towels were changed daily. Thecontinental breakfast was lovely and plentiful. We had two lovely nights in a nice and quiet room. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff were very kind to provide us with a packed breakfast on the last day when we had to leave early!

We very much enjoyed two nights in a family room at the Sportsview Guest House.The owners’ were personable, helpful and attentive; breakfast comprised a very nice spread that set us up well for the day, towels were replaced and rooms thoroughly tidied and evrything was clean.We would certainly stay again.

Although our room was facing the street, windows have completely cut off the noise. Sleeping with open windows could be a problem though as the street is quite busy. The room itself was clean and tidy, the shower was super. The room had a smart TV with all popular networks such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. There was also a small computer table good enough for one person. WiFi speed was okay. The car parking worked in the first come first served mode, we were lucky to have a parking spot during all our stay there. The personnel was nice, friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient for browsing around the town centre. We liked the place andwill stay there again in the future.

I stayed for a couple of nights at the Sportsview Guest House.Although the outside doesn’t look like much, my double room with en-suite was lovely and the staff were excellent.Very good value for money.

The staff were friendly; rooms were clean, spacious and warm. Parking is convenient, ie. 12 noon to 12 noon. This allows you to spend a whole day and whole morning in Oxford. The shower was powerful and piping hot. The only slight nb. I'd point out is that the road is a little busier than expected, so slight traffic noise might be an issue for sensitive sleepers. However, if you've been traipsing around Oxford all day you'll likely sleep like a log. You could request non-road facing rooms. They kindly put us in two rooms in close proximity due to being a young family. Would consider using again, though with back-facing rooms.

This hotel had all the essentials covered well: Comfortable bed, clean rooms, good service and communication through email and at check in. Parking was a bonus and at just a 15 minute into the centre of Oxford it ticked all the boxes and offered very good value for money.

I have stayed at The Sportsview several times and will stay many more. Always a warm welcome The standards never waver with exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms and communal areas. The continental breakfast is extremely varied and goodand the staff always friendly and amenable.For it's main road location the rooms are surprisingly quiet. Local bus stop into the centre or a 15 minute stroll.

Our host Bernie was very nice , answered a lot of questions about Oxford for us and recommended a lovely restaurant, the Cozy Cafe, managed by, and our server, Reese was lovely. This guest house is conveniently located and was the best value I could find for central Oxford.Nothing fancy or special but it was clean and met the description. The person at the desk and serving breakfast was very helpful. Book direct for a free breakfast.

We have stayed at Sportsview 5 times over the last year. This guesthouse is in a great location for visiting Oxford being only a short walk from the city centre. Staff are very friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with enquiries. There is a small but easily accessible car park at the rear. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well-equipped. A continental breakfast is served in a pleasant room with a variety of food choices and an efficient service. We highly recommend Sportsview guesthouse.

This is the second time I've stayed at Sportsview Guest House, this time in one of the single rooms.This room has a fine shared bathroom down a few steps along the main corridor.It's sufficiently far from the room for need to dress properly to access it.Although the room faces the main road, it is very quiet.Bed is comfortable and room is ideal for short stay.As before, continental breakfast is plentiful (buffet style) and has ample variety.Friendly staff and good access to central Oxford (along the river if preferred!).I work remotely for the university now and Sportsview is my preferred place to stay when in Oxford.

Stayed in twin room. It was clean, warm, had comfortable bed and excellent shower. Check-in should have been 4o'cl, but I was able to check-in at 1o'cl when room became available, which was very helpful. 10min walk to shopping centre, 20min walk to town, 25min walk to train station. Only negative was very early traffic noise as room facing onto busy road, but rooms at back might be much quieter. Would recommend.

Having stayed at the hotel previously we had no hesitation in returning.The room we were allocated had recently been refurnished and was excellent.The hotel is within 10-15 minute walk from the city centre.I hav e no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sportsview Guest House, which is comfortable and reasonably priced, with attentive and helpful staff. It has a good-sized car park, and is close enough to the city to make for a pleasant walk.

I stayed for two nights on a business trip (i.e. conference) at the university.Great location, within easy walking distance to high street along the road or, via a slight detour, along the river tow path.Plenty of choice for continental breakfast - very filling too.Proprietor is friendly and welcoming.Hotel is split between several buildings.I stayed in Room 12 in the reception building.Ensuite with good powerful shower.Soap included.Bed was comfortable and room comes with complimentary coffee, tea and biscuit.Room 12, being on the ground floor, was a little noisy until about midnight due to pipes or something.Otherwise, as it is located around the back, it is not subject to road noise.I recommend Sportsview Guest House and will stay there again.

Really enjoyed my stay at Sportsview! Location is great, it's next to a main road so a little noisy but nothing crazy. Single bed and small room, exactly what I needed. Bed was comfy and room clean. Some of the guests were noisy at night, students I think, but that's to be expected at a cheap BnB in Oxford. Check in was easy, their communication excellent, and everything was as described.Would stay here again, fantastic price for what you get! A++++

We came back to this hotel where we enjoyed a comfortable room, friendly Staffel and a Continental Vreakfast each morning in a quiet atmosphere. It is close to the city that we did not use the bus. We could walk to the botanical garden, Christ church college and shopping in the Center and in the Westgate Center. For a Trip to London it was not far to the bus. Although the hotel offers parking space behind the house we did not need a Rente car for our holidays. Our rooms had the windows away from the main street so that it was calm.

The Sportsview Guest House was easy to find, on the main road into Oxford City centre. Free parking at the rear which was extremely helpful as we could then catch a bus or taxi very easily into the centre. The room itself was very clean and tidy with comfortable beds and ensuite. Couldn't ask for more really. Can highly recommend it.

I always stay at the Sportsview when I am visiting Oxford for work. The single rooms are an excellent price, I love walking along the river to get into the city in the morning, and the staff are always super friendly and helpful.

I was looking for the cheapest room, so I was delighted that the single room I had was, while small, clean and comfortable.Continental Breakfast was good, and the service was friendly and excellent.

We traveled with the Family, 2 adult Kids. The receptionist was perfect. Friendly, helpfulnwith several good suggestions for breakfast and a good beer at The Slow and Steady for example.The rooms have been very clean and the showers in our rooms habe been nearly new.The water pressure at the room 23 should be higher.Distance to the town centernis about 15 min, whichbisbalso perfect.

If you're looking to visit Oxford on a budget, I'd recommend you The Sportsview. My room was a single, with a single bed, tiny but comfortable enough to spend the night. And the breakfast was also good :)

I stayed at the Sportsview during my recent work trip to Oxford, in a single-bed room with private bathroom access. The staff were really nice and all instructions and guidance needed were given to me at check-in. Complimentary breakfast is available for those staying mid-week, and I was delighted that my dietary needs (vegan; I did inform the property at the point of booking) were catered for - which is really not a given! I was given soy milk, vegan butter and even vegan cheese, and I really, really appreciated it. Would definitely stay again if I find myself in Oxford!One thing I'd improve is that when I entered the room, the heating was on full blast and the room was absolutely boiling. This was not needed at all, as the weather was in the teens, and I immediately turned it off completely and opened a window, but it took a while to cool the room down. The radiator was also on high in the shower room - also unnecessarily.

The Sportsview Guest House is in a convenient location in Oxford. It is spotlessly clean and the single room I stayed in, although compact, was very comfortable with its own en suite, and contained everything I needed for my one night stay. The continental breakfast offered a wide variety of items and looked very appetising - it also tasted good. The host was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. We arrived a little early and were kindly allowed to move into the room. When we left, our driver was a little late, but the hosts were very accommodating and we were able to use the room a little longer.For a small extra charge, we were able to enjoy a very fine breakfast.When we made our booking, we received messages about COVID measures (including the requirement to wear a mask), which unsettled us and almost caused us to cancel. However, we found out that this was an outdated warning (there were no restrictions whatsoever).We would visit the Sportsview Guest House again at any time.

The house in good walking distance to the lovely town center of Oxford. My room was spacious and clean. The B&B is located on a busy road but double windows prevent the noise mainly. Breakfast is poor and I preferred to eat at the nearby hotel „Head of the river“.

We only stayed overnight enroute back to London. We made a late spontaneous booking via Google and couldn't be more pleased with our accommodation. Friendly staff greeted us. The room & ensuite were clean and spacious, and being just a mile from the Town center we were able to walk and enjoy a leisurely few hours. Choice of a couple of restaurants just meters from our room was an added bonus.Highly recommend.

Very nice stay in foot walk's reach of the city center. Nice rooms. Very supportive staff, helped us out perfectly after we had some severe hiccup with the booking/payment process.

We arrived early to be assured of a parking space. Reception welcoming andhelpful. Our room, on the first floor, was clean, bright and ample in size, with a bay window looking over the busy road and sports field. Shower and hot water excellent. Bed firm but not uncomfortable. Good Wi-Fi and smart TV. Regular busses into town, though it's only a 20 minute walk.

Stay was just what we wanted.Parked easily, check in was thorough.Room was lovely, spotless, modern, double glazed.Fan was provided and bathroom was very clean.Room was on the front, so some may say road traffic noise, but this can’t be helped.Lighting for make up was touch and go, but this is the sometimes worse in the most expensive of hotels.Thank you for a lovely stay.

I have been staying here for a few months during the week whilst working in Oxford.It is comfortable ,clean,friendly and professional. I will be staying here a lot in the future.

As a family of 5, including 2 teenagers, we often struggle to find short-term accommodation that gives us the space that we need - this was not the case here!We were allocated a triple ensuite room for the children right next door to a double ensuite room for the adults; both rooms were very clean and nicely decorated with all of the amenities that you might need and off a private landing away from the other guests.The breakfasts were delicious - a good choice of things to eat and drink such as cereals, toast, pastries, cold meats, fruit, yoghurt with tea, coffee, milk and juice - they certainly set us up for the day!Alan, our host, was so friendly and kind and the location was perfect for walking into the city centre - it takes just 10-15 minutes - so we left the car in the car park all weekend!Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this guest house to anyone considering a weekend in Oxford!

I booked the single en suite which was compact but extremely comfortable.the shower was lovely and a fan was provided in case I was too hot.the hosts were polite and welcoming throughout.the breakfast was ample and the location was great with only around a 15min walk to city centre.it cost around £8.00 to taxi from the train station.i would certainly stay again.

What I loved about this place was the owner. He was so very kind when I coordinated a drop off of my luggage beforethe scheduled check-in. He was very personable and provided helpful information on the room, the bathrooms, and breakfast the next day. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable, it was a perk to have a TV in the room. It was also very nice to have my own shower and my own bathroom for privacy. I will say the location is a little off the beaten path but it felt safe to walk to. It was quiet and the buses went straight there so it was convenient. And having breakfast in the morning by the same nice gentleman who is so considerate and sweet I can't say one bad thing about this place.

I booked directly with sportsview guest house and I knew I was going to be arriving fairly late at night so I asked if there was a way to accommodate me since it was outside of the normal check in hours. The response via email was quick and simple and they were able to meet my request. I also requested to extend my stay after the initial booking and that was quick and easy as well.I stayed at sportsview for 4 nights and enjoyed my stay a lot. The room I was staying in wasn't anything fancy but it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast room was nice and welcoming and all the people I came in contact with were very nice and accommodating. Overall, I enjoyed my stay alot and would book a room here again.

We flew into London from Seattle, then immediately boarded a bus for Oxford to slog through our jet lag. The Sportsview was a perfect, clean, modest, calm place for that project. Alan (sp?) couldn't have been more amiable or responsive. Highly recommended!

We were in Oxford for a weekend. The guesthouse is well located within walking distance of the city center and has private parking, which is certainly a plus. The welcome was very friendly, the rooms were very neat and practically furnished. The host's tips were very useful. Recommended!

I needed a clean quiet spot for a couple of nights for a work conference. I was a little nervous as this is budget end for Oxford but no need to worry. Room has the essentials, newly painted and decorated, and most importantly clean. Great spot for a couple of nights. I'll be sure to come back when next on a work trip! Thank you.

I'll be back in Oxford again before long, and will plan to stay there again.Parking at the Park & Ride was cheap and easy -- got the bus (and took a walk once).Two small rooms issue upon arrival -- quickly remedied, so excellent service there. Breakfast offering was broad -- friendly chap, all good there.It's a great place -- provided you're not after a big room -- mine was compact to say the least, but I get why. Stay there, you'll not regret it!!

My friend and I visited Oxford to meet up with old college friends. The Sportsview is brilliantly placed a short walk from Carfax. The room was comfortable with everything we needed, and it was spotlessly clean .The staff we met were welcoming and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if we plan another Oxford visit.

The room and bathroom were recently updated and were lovely. The bed was comfortable and the location was great. The hosts were very friendly and suggested places to eat. We loved being able to log in to Netflix on the large television. Parking was a plus and we could leave our car there until 12.00 pm on the day we left.

This was one of the best B & Bs I was in. It is a Victorian house that has been nicely refurbished. Our bath was almost new. TV and Wifi were provided and of good quality. Oxford's city centre is only a 10 minutes walk way. You won't need a car. The contintental breakfast left nothing to be asked for. They had cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, toasts, sweet pies, jam, tasty ham and salami, eggs, coffee, tea. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I stayed here for 2 nights recently. The single room, though small,was perfectly adequate, with separate private toilet and bathroom down a small flight of stairs. Facilities were clean, the host very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was very pleasant! It is situated on a main road and therefore there was some traffic noise, but then it was really convenient for walking up to the city centre, so a small price to pay. All in all, excellent value for a weekend stay in a city where hotel prices are expensive!

Stayed here with friends for a gig at the O2 Academy. Easy check-in with helpful manager. Clean comfortable room with good shower. Plenty of food & drink options nearby. Recommended

Very nice and clean room. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Enjoyed breakfast in the mornings. The location was far enough from town center to be quieter yet just a few minutes' walk away. All in all, a great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

Clean, comfortable, quiet, friendly, this was an easily accessible base for my return for a college event. I walked to and from bus station, train station and venue. I would definitely choose Sportsview again.

I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations here! The room was small, but I expected that. The bed was very comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. The staff was extremely friendly, and the continental breakfast was very good! This was the perfect spot for an inexpensive place to stay that was still, walkable to everything in Oxford. We found this guest house very comfortable and a great place to stay while in Oxford. It was a short walk from the Center of Oxford and both the railway and bus stations. Even closer to Christ Church and a great pub. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and the continental breakfast was well arranged and plentiful.

We had a great time! The breakfasts were healthy and plentiful. The room was great and everyone on staff was helpful and generous with their time. The location was great for both getting into the city and hiking around the river and adjacent green spaces. We would recommend that anyone coming to Oxford think about staying here.

We stayed at the Sportsview for three nights and we're glad we selected it for ourstay in Oxford. As a matter of fact I wish we had stayed for another night or two. Ourroom was just fine for the three of us and we really enjoyed the variety in the breakfastroom each morning. The two gentlemen managers we met were very helpful and wewere helped with getting to a car rental place with a bridge out. Thanks especially foryour help on that and for lining up a taxi to take us on roads to get there.We certainly recommend the Sportsview. It is close to a mile walk to the famous museumsin Oxford but you can catch a but going either way if you do not want to walk like we do.

It was a last minute decision and just fine. The staff was very helpful. It’s been remodeled and our room was very clean and nice. Easy 10 minute or so walk to heart of town. Close by was a great pizza place and Pub, The White House.I’ld stay there again.

We had a friendly welcome, the room was very clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was perfect for us.Good location as you can leave your car in the carpark and it's an easy walk into the city centre.

Perfectly positioned within easy walking distance of the City. Car parking a real bonus. The rooms were spacious, clean, well equipped (beds and pillowsreally comfortable). Nice single room. Spotless as usual. Good provision of tea and coffee, towels and soap. Good TV. Walls very sound proof, must be original brick. Traffic noise hardly noticeable with window shut. Parking very handy. Shared bathroom excellent arrangement.And Oxford won 5-0.Excellent weather so all round couldn’t have been better.

I stayed at this guesthouse overnight with my daughters and it was ideal for what we needed. The room was light, clean and fully equipped. Check in was a breeze and the staff were friendly and helpful. Shower pressure was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious! Great location too with only a fifteen minute walk into the centre, in addition to free parking. Only negatives were the lack of lift and the light on the TV which was very bright when we were trying to sleep but could easily be switched off! Overall a great stay, would definitely book again.

This is my third stay at the Guest House and it was a great experience as usual. On this visit I stayed in the single room with my own separate toilet and bath just down the stairs.I thought that this would be difficult for me to manage but it wasn't. Everything was clean with great service all round. On this stay I had the breakfast for the first time and it was more than adequate for my needs. I requested an early check-in as I was coming from a very long flight and they accommodated me. I thoroughly love the walks to and from town. All in all a very good experience and this will be my first choice of to stay on my next visit to Oxford

We booked two rooms and used on site parking. Stayed 3 days we left by 830-9 and were out all day until after 9. We were looking for a clean affordable location and this was perfect. Rooms very clean, bed very comfortable and bathroom also clean.Staff also responsive.We had an issue after returning home locating a document and I emailed twice the day after our stay. We ended up finding it but staff responded to both my emails within an hour and were helpful.Would stay here again.

Easy to find, parking was down behind the guest house. On arrival was welcomed by Manager who was very helpful throughout the weekend. Our room had been recently refurbished, it was very clean and came with tea and coffee facilities. There was a hairdryer in the room (and ironing board on lower floor if you needed it). Breakfast was a comprehensive continental affair. It's a ten minute walk into Oxford. Happily comeback again

The room where we stayed (3 adults sharing) for one night, was spacious enough for the 3 of us. The beds were comfortable and the room was lovely and warm on a cold February visit.The bathroom was very clean but a bit small and basic. However everything worked well.

We really enjoyed one night staying in a 4 person family room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable.We had no trouble parking the car in the hotel car park (Sun-Mon overnight at the end of Feb half term), although I would still have preferred to be able to reserve a space - that's my only suggestion for improvement really!

Just a good bed and breakfast near Oxford. I stayed in the single room with ensuite bathroom and everything was pretty good! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. The heat was also pretty strong so it was always cozy in the room. The included continental breakfast had a nice selection of cheeses that went well with the toast. Just take note that there are some steps so if you have large luggage, be prepared to carry them up / down.Overall, I'd recommend this if you are looking for a no-frills BNB that is within walking distance of Oxford!

Our family all greatly enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and the room felt spacious. I’m also very grateful for how clean the room was as that allowed me to relax and get a good night’s sleep. The proprietors were friendly and the location is great… just a short 8-10 minute walk to Christ Church (our first stop of the day.) They have a car park (which we didn’t use,) and a baggage hold (which we did use.)

The guest house is well run, clean and welcoming. It is also competitively priced as this area is both popular and very near the city centre. I recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Sportsview Guest House. It was lovely and comfy, small but you have everything you need. It was perfect for our stay, and not too far from the city centre (about a 10/15mins walk away).

The room was really warm and comfortable and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it. Altogether our visit was excellent!

We stayed at the Sportsview for one night - we arranged for a late check-in, which was very easy to do. Instructions to collect the key were extremely clear. The room was extremely clean and warm, maybe lacking charm somewhat. But for the price, this is a really good option and I have no hesitation in recommending.

I did a lot of research for Oxford accommodations and Sportsview seemed the best option for our family of 5. After our stay, I can confirm that Sportsview has the best location, staff, rooms, and value in the area! We only stayed one night, but I wish we could have stayed more.The Sportsview staff was extremely kind and helpful. Rooms/Bathroom were small, but nothing out of the ordinary for Europe. Bus stop conveniently close if you have luggage and Christ Church only 12 min walk. Breakfast was continental and was the perfect fit for us as we don't eat heavy in the morning. Plan on coming back to visit more of Oxfordshire in the future and we will be back at the Sportsview!

I’ve stayed at Sportsview twice this year, and both times I’ve had a great experience. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. The room has all the basic needs covered for a very reasonable price (including a nice breakfast)! The shared/external bathrooms for the single rooms are kept clean and well-stocked. The walk to town is not far, and makes for a very peaceful stroll in the mornings and evenings. Will definitely be visiting again.

The stay was just as good as the first time. It was excellent and both of us had a great time in Oxford, Wantage and Ardington, where we caught up with an old friend.

I stayed there just for two nights. The bed was comfortable. There was everything what I needed in the room. The location was perfect. Very Green around, there was supermarkets few min by walking, the main objects - 10min by walking. Great cute economic place where to stay:)

Perfectly fine for our needs- in Oxford to see a few people. Nothing fancy but clean with everything I needed including tea and coffee and good storage. Liked there was a full length mirror.It's an easy 15 minute walk into Oxford and loads of direct buses. Great to have parking too.A highlight for me was discovering that we were just 5 mins walk to Hinksey Lake while staying at Sportsview. Meant as a regular wild swimmer I managed to fit in a dip in one morning.Slept fine although had to cover a flashing intermittent red and blue light on the TV at night.I would have liked less bright wall lights (but I'm obsessed with subtle and atmospheric lighting).

For 4 nights I enjoyed my stay at Sportsview Guesthouse, Oxford l. It was a last minute reservation before a conference. But it was a nice surprise. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very good bathroom. There was free internet, and free coffee which added to my happiness. I encourage everyone looking for a stay in Oxford to stay in Spotrsview Guest house.

We loved the Sportsview! The location was perfect - an easy walk to the Oxford University and within 3 blocks of 3 restaurants. The manager Allen was very welcoming and informational.We were a group of 3 adults and had a lower level family room (#19 in building 108). The huge windows let in lots of natural light. The room had one double and one twin bed - so comfortable. The ensuite bathroom had a lovely shower. The entire room was very clean and we appreciated the kettle, coffee and milk that was in the room.

The two of us, my daughter, and I, stayed 2 nights. We are both from Chile, South America, although I am of British origin (Bedfordshire). Everything was fine and was as expected. The willingness to wait until we arrived in person before charging, rather than forcing us to pay a deposit in advance, was especially convenient and appreciated.

The room was really nice, with an amazing comfort and location. The staff was super attentive and cleanliness was fantastic. We loved it!

Good room which had been finely prepared and provided a comfortable stay close to the centre of the city. A pleasant view across the playing fields towards the river added to the experience.

The room was very nice. The owners were pleasant and a good selection of food for breakfast. Benefitted from parking our car in the car park from 12 noon on arrival and did not use it until leaving Oxford, as property was within walking distance to Oxford City Centre. Would recommend.

This is an older building with a good amount of stairs. The room was clean, comfortable, but older arrangement and no frills. The hosts were great to chat with and offered a limited continental breakfast. The location was great near the river. I would recommend the Sportsview for travelers who like to walk and want a medium priced hotel.

A lovely B&B easy to find on the bus from the railway station the house was across the road from the bus stop. It was a pleasant walk into and out of the city. We especially appreciated the fan in the room with the high temps the UK has been having made sleeping much easier. Our room was very quiet and we had no traffic noise whatsoever. The room was clean and well appointed looks like it was new carpet. Would definitely stay here again.

Ok for what we wanted

Perfect for what we needed during a few days seeing friends and visiting Oxford. A clean and well appointed family room in a great location for walking into the city (10 min), and with the great benefit of parking. Our hosts were very welcoming and conscientious, and there was plenty of choice in the continental breakfast.

The Sportsview Inn is located about an eight-minute walk south of central Oxford. It’s close to Christ Church Meadow and the beautiful towpath along the river. It’s about 20-25 minutes’ walk from the central train station, or 15 from Gloucester Green.It’s run by friendly staff, and though the rooms aren’t fancy by any means, I found them clean and well cared-for. The breakfast was quite good as well.I would certainly recommend it for anyone traveling on a budget, and I’d happily stay there again.

The best things about this room were that it was within 15 minutes walk of the centre of Oxford (museums, etc) and that it slept 4 persons so that my siblings and I could sleep together in the same room. Free parking was also provided until 12 noon on the day of departure.

The Sportsview guest house is a great place for travellers. It is a short 10min walking distance to town. The place is very clean, has free parking and the frontdesk was very helpful and accommodating. I would stay here again anytime, thanks for hosting us!

Stayed in a single en-suite room. Cosy, affordable, and peaceful as at the back of the building so no traffic noise. Very nice breakfast. I will stay again.

Stayed for 1 night. Very helpful on initial booking, answering some questions for me. Very helpful on arrival, getting me parked and pre-registered. The car park is small but got a space. The single room that I had was clean,comfortable and en-suite. Very quiet, considering the hotel's proximity to a main artery road. It is situated within a 20 minute walk to the centre of Oxford, giving walking access to theatres, restaurants and some of Oxford's famed historic buildings. Lovely breakfast, too. Excellent value for money.

Very good and nice service. I stayed at The Sportsview with my (then) two young sons some 15 years ago. As our increased family was visiting Oxford this summer, The Sportsview was a natural choice. We do not regret. It is a 15 minutes walk to the town centre, which we don't mind.

We were 3 guests and we like very much our three-bed room. It was crean, confortable and in perfect condition. The owner was very kind and informed us about all the basics. The location is great, like 10min walking from the centre.

The guesthouse was very clean, tastefully decorated, serviced daily, and was only 10-15 minutes pleasant walk to the central part of Oxford. Originally were told check-in was 4pm, but this turned out to be flexible and we checked in a couple of hours earlier after a very long flight from Australia. For a couple the room was a tight fit. But quite good value for money.

We stayed at the Sportsview Guest House for two nights in two twin rooms. Parents with two adult children. It was a very pleasant stay. Clean and appealing rooms. Friendly service. Easy access. A quiet place with a limited number of guests, although fully booked both nights. Breakfast was delightful with several menu options. Bathrooms were clean with modern standard and good showers. Good beds. TV and Wifi worked as advertised with Netflix access and more via TV. We will come back next time we visit Oxford. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend The Sportsview. Lovely, clean and well presented accommodation. Conveniently located 10-15 minute walk outside the city centre and away from the hustle and bustle.

A really lovely budget guesthouse. The owners are super welcoming and friendly, and the whole place is squeaky clean. The place is converted from an old terrace of houses, and so it's a cosy rabbit warren. Breakfast is freshly cooked each morning and the rooms cleaned every day. Nice pressure in the shower. If you're looking for somewhere fashionably decorated then this isn't for you, but if you want somewhere super comfy and friendly then I can't recommend it enough. I stayed three days on a business trip and would happily have stayed there for a holiday.The only downside was that I was at a room in the front of the house, so I couldn't leave my window open during the very hot summer nights that I was there because of the road noise. But I don't think this would have been a problem any other time of year, and you can always request a room at the back if this is going to be a problem for you.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed here. It is very pleasant and calm and the hosts are very welcoming. Easy walk to the town centre. I feet quite safe staying there.

This was our third visit, which says a lot. Well managed traditional b&b. Clean, good breakfasts (included if you book direct with them) and well located. It’s a 15/20 minute easy walk into Oxford centre. Free parking is a bonus. Don’t expect designer room fitments, but in our experience as a package great value if you want to explore Oxford for a few days.

I went on a research trip to Oxford and stayed at Sportsview Guest House for five nights.It was a pleasurable stay. Breakfast and delicious and generous. My room was cleaned daily and everything went well.The team were polite, friendly and helpful.

Nice, modern entrance to the property,friendly check in. Nicely carpeted hallway and our room was lovely,bright and modern fittings (love that mirror!) Modern ensuite. Plenty of hot water. Nice window high up so windows opened wide but still private. Plenty of tea/coffee. Tiny tiny criticism, the mattress seemed to slope downwards for some reason and it did affect both of our sleep but it was still ok. We didn't have the breakfast as we wanted to get an early start home but it smelled delicious. Would stay again if in area.

I had a single room.The accommodations were very basic, but everything was quite clean and the bathroom, though small like the room, was modern.There was good communication from the point of booking onward.The location is quiet and about an easy 15 minute walk from town centre right up one road.It's a five minute walk to the river path.The best part was the hosts, though, who were friendly and accommodating.They kept my luggage on the day I arrived and the day I left, called me a taxi, and generally just made the stay easy and pleasant.The breakfast--I had the full English each day--was delicious and well-cooked and served in a quick and efficient manner. I would have no hesitations about staying here again--indeed, I would be glad to.If you want luxury, this is not the place, but the value is very high for the cost.

We had a wonderful time in Oxford. We stayed in the Sports View Guest House for 2 nights with our 3 children. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were good and breakfast was tasty. We were well taken care of. We walked to the city center, it was a short walk. We parked the car behind the guesthouse, so that was perfect!

We stayed in Room 6 and absolutely loved it. The bed was lovely and the room itself was huge! The chairs and coffee table overlooking the river were lovely to enjoy a coffee and watch the fabulous locals go by on foot or bicycle. Location was great to walk to all areas of the city. Breakfast was great (coffee could have been a little stronger). Highly recommended.

I wanted somewhere to stay to go to events in the centre of Oxford in the evening, that was on a good bus route and also walkable sometimes. I also needed parking. Sportsview met all these requirements, my room was spacious and comfortable and a good breakfast served by the friendly owner.

We really enjoyed our one-week stay here. The staff is very kind and cooperative, the breakfasts were delicious and the city center is very close so it's a perfect spot if you want to do some sightseeing. The room was small but convenient, we loved the little cookies that were left every day with the teapot. Thank you for a lovely English experience!

The guest house is close enough to easily walk into the city and there is a decent car park. Our room had recently been decorated to a high standard and the shower room was particularly good. Decent breakfast too. Recommended.

This B&B is a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. We arrived very early due to transportation with the hope of checking in early or seeing if we could leave our bags in a safe place and go explore Oxford as we had limited time there.The hosts graciously offered to let us leave our bags and keep any valuables in a locked room. The B&B front door is locked and one has to get buzzed in which made me feel even more secure about leaving our bags (and staying) there.The room, while smaller than most hotel rooms, felt bigger and was more comforting and comfortable to stay in. The facilities were very clean and our towels were changed daily. Breakfast was wonderful and they cooked my sons eggs the way he likes (scrambled instead of fried) for the American Breakfast choice.I would stay here again, anytime.

This was a very pleasurable experience. The apartment was very clean and well maintained and front desk staff was extremely friendly and responded to all our requests quickly. The only downside is that there is no elevator but this is a minor complaint compared with the rest of our experience.

Never sure what to expect with BnB's, add in there were 8 of us and something is bound to go wrong. As it was, Alan looked after us from the start, the rooms were clean, tidy and warm, the breakfast was great, free parking and the place is in a good location (15 min walk to city centre) We were all happy.

Clean and comfortable room for a group of 4 adults - everything we needed for a 1 night stay in Oxford. We appreciated the extra touch of providing a kettle and tea, milk, biscuits. Staff were very friendly and allowed us to store our bags after we had checked out. The guest house looks out on a pleasant green field but is on a busy road - mainly relevant for people who are sensitive to noise when sleeping!

I arrived late on the Saturday evening but was emailed with clear instructions & also the lovely gentleman who rang me made sure I knew before I got there regarding late check-in.I went into the room & was very pleasantly surprised with little touches here & there, the room was spotless so was the en-suite.I didn't realise the room price included breakfast so was very surprised when the man took my breakfast order so after an amazing night's sleep I went & had a very tasty full English!I had a brilliant night's sleep which I was unsure about at first being near the road but I couldn't hear a thing through the glazed windows so I was delighted.The breakfast room is lovely with everybody catered for & the service is 5*.I can't praise the lovely gentleman enough for his warm atmosphere & lots of help!100% recommend this hotel anyday!

The room could have been a bit bigger however it was adequate for our needs.The location was great for the town centre. 10/15 min walk and straight up the road so you couldn’t get lost! We didn’t have the breakfast. All correspondence from the venue gave us all the information we needed at the booking stage and it met our expectations. On arrival we had a friendly welcome and would consider staying there again.

Perfect staying.

We have been welcomed in a very friendly manner. The room was as expected with a newly renovated bathroom and comfortable beds, also enough storage and coffee/tea facilities. The location is just ideal to get to the Thames with boat cruises for example. It is to be recommended to have a bite to eat at The Folly. It can be a problem to find a parking spot when the house is fully booked. But there is also 2 hour street parking available.

The rooms were very comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. Tea and coffee facilities available. Fans were provided as the weather was very hot. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A very good breakfast was included. We were able to leave our car 4 hours before and 2 hours after checkout. It was an easy 15 minute walk into Oxford from the guesthouse. I would definitely stay at the Sportsview again.

The Sportsview, overlooking the Christ Church sports grounds, was aptly named and ideally situated for our 2-day visit to Oxford's academic heritage. Temperatures were exceedingly high and so our room quite hot. But other than that our stay was perfect! The two gentlemen receiving us were very hospitable,always trying to make our stay better still. The room was not very big, but quite spotless. The en-suite looked brand new. Enough clean towels every day and a rich breakfast, even catering for gluten and lactose intolerance. In short, warmly recommended!

A friendly welcome made checking in easy, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and the linen was fresh.As expected, the ensuite bathroom was small but functional. And although showing a few signs of aging, was clean with pleasantly fluffy towels. Great value for money, would definitely stay again.

We got a very warm welcome. Both rooms were clean, beds were good and from hotel it is only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Oxford. Within a few minutes, there are two pubs were you can have a good diner. Good hotel fora visit to Oxford.

Really good place very clean and the most important walking distance to city center is not that far and the staff is very friendly definitely high recommended

Very friendly welcome and breakfast host. Excellent breakfast. My only problem was the bed, a bit too soft and bouncy for me, didn't sleep too well on the 2nd night.

Arrived later in the evening and the manage was there to greet us. Found the check in process easy and informative, found all staff to be friendly and helpful with any enquiries we had on the area and the hotel itself. The room was clean and tidy, the bed comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure.On both mornings found the breakfast to be hearty and filling with a good breakfast selection to offer something for all! All in all I found are stay very nice and would if visiting Oxford again would be happy to still here again.

Great guest house. Alan on reception was friendly, check in was easy and informative.I had asked for a quiet room, which we were given (top floor at rear of property). Room itself was clean and comfortable, usual facilities of tea, coffee etc, hairdryer, tv, wi-fi, couple of chairs, en-suite bathroom, even a fan as the weather was hot.Breakfast was good, plenty of choice - 3 types of cereals, fruit and yoghurt, then various options for cooked, fruit juices, teas, coffee.You had to order the day beforehand, but this was not a problem.Free parking was available at rear of property.Oxford was about a 15 minute walk away, or you can get a bus.Ideal stay for a couple of nights.Would stay again if in the area and recommend.

I stayed at the Sportsview Guest House for 3 nights. The accommodation and breakfast were first class. The owners were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The guesthouse is situated in an ideal place, only a 15 minute walk into the heart of Oxford or on a frequent bus route.

The arrival reception and breakfast service from Alan was excellent.My room (#1) was small but met my needs. It was clean and quiet at the back of the building.The Sportsview location was very good for walking access to Oxford centre and also the river.I'll definitely stay again if/when I revisit Oxford.Thank you and all best!

My stay at Sportsview was wonderful. Alan was so friendly and helpful. Always greeted with a smile. The breakfast was delicious and the location about a 15 min walk from the main city area. Although the room was small, it was very clean. 2 very good pubs with outdoor areas nearby. My fave was the Whitehouse. All in all, a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend it.

The Sportsview Guesthouse provided clean, comfortable accommodation for all you need for a short visit to Oxford. In an excellent location for visiting the city with the added bonus of parking.

It's only few minutes walk from the city centre. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. A good option for a stay in Oxford for 1-3 days.

We stayed here as we were travelling to the grandprix. The bnb is basic but exactly what we needed. The rooms were very clean and the bnb was located near the shops and bars.

We’ve been welcomed in a very friendly and warm way. The rooms were clean and spacious. We did not try the breakfast. The position was wonderful. 10 minutes walk to reach the centre of Oxford. The parking for our car was really useful. It was a wonderful stay in Oxford

We were a group of 11 adults and found the hosts very accommodating. The breakfasts were good. Our rooms were standard the only disadvantage being the top room had a slopping ceiling and the couple found it a bit of a disadvantage.

The Sportsview is situated about 15 minutes walk from the city centre (and a number of buses pass the door), about 25 minutes walk from the railway station and it has a car park, though spaces are not guaranteed. It's a residential area with very little on-street parking. On the whole, you're better off without a car in Oxford - I know - I used to live there.We were welcomed by the proprietor who explained everything we needed to know. Our room and ensuite were quite small but perfectly comfortable and adequate for a short stay. It's an old property but is fully modernised inside and very clean. Breakfast was excellent.It's a B&B - don't expect a lounge or full-time reception. Some may regard it as expensive, but everything, particularly property, is expensive in Oxford, and I felt this compared well to other establishments I'd looked at. I would stay there again.

Although my room was on the street, it was quiet and comfortable. The proprietor was very pleasant and helpful. I did not have breakfast, but from passing by the dining room it smelled good and sounded very cheery. This was quite a good value and a fifteen-minute walk from the Weston Library.

My mother and aunt stayed in the Sportsview house when visiting me this June and very much enjoyed their stay. The owner was really helpful and lovely, very good value for the room and great location for Oxford city.

The Sportsview worked very well for me and my two kids for a 2 night stay in Oxford. We had a 3 bed room which was perfect for us. Everything was clean and well appointed. We arrived in the afternoon and didn’t drive the car until we left. The center of Oxford is a ten minute walk and there are regular buses, with stop nearby. I recommend the breakfasts. They are tasty and keep you going for a day seeing the sights.

A friendly and very informative/helpful greeting at reception set us up nicely for our stay. The room was very clean and well appointed, with all new fixtures and fittings. The bathroom and shower were excellent. The provision of tea/coffee was plentiful and replenished daily. Breakfasts were well cooked and delicious, with a choice of three main cooked breakfasts. The guest house is quite well situated, with a 15 minute walk into the central town and a bus stop just outside the building.

We stayed for one night to go to the New Theatre. The welcome we received was excellent with lots of information. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The guest house is well sighted and is in walking distance of the city centre and the Thames. It is also on a bus route.

Needed a location close to Folly Bridge (Head of the River), yet avoiding city centre itself (Jubilee meant pubs shutting later...); plus a chance of parking, which was available & secure off-road.The proprietors were also extra helpful afterwards with a mislaid item. Comfortable bed & unrestricted access once checked in.

Exellent location for exploring Oxford with the bonus of parking and only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The room was perfect for the tree of us, very clean. We stayed for two nights on a short visit to Oxford. Our garret room was clean and comfortable, and fine for a short stay. Our hosts were helpful and attentive. Breakfast was comprehensive and of a good standard for the price. The walk to the historic town centre is about 15 minutes and quite straightforward.

Stayed for 2 nights in a (small but perfectly formed) single room with private facilities. Had to leave before breakfast both days but the offering looked good. Staff very pleasant and helpful.Good (and secure) WiFi which is always a bonus. Convenient for local busses and only 1 mile from the 'High Street'. Good to have free car parking too (if you're early enough to get one of the 9 spaces!). If I find myself working in Oxford again it will be top of my list to stay over.

We had a very a verycomfortable stay for two nights at the Sportsview. We had a warm welcome, a clean and comfortable room, and a wonderful breakfast. The American breakfast with pancakes was so tasty, and the bacon was thick. The full English is also recommended, very wholesome with thick bacon and delicious sausage, mushrooms, tomato etc. . There is a 15 minute or so walk into the centre of Oxford, but there are also buses that are a quick hop into town. All very convenient.

We found the Sportsview strategically placed for our gathering of 14 adults and 4 children in Oxford. The welcome was friendly and very efficient, as was the production of full English breakfasts! Spotless cleanliness of rooms. It's a guesthouse created within a set of adjacent, probably Edwardian, houses so expect some quirkiness;eg interlinking corridors and stairs. J aged 6 thought it was the best hotel because moving between rooms was an adventure! Please note, parking is limited, so try to minimise the number of vehicles you are arriving in if you are a large party.

Have stayed here on this weekend for many years. Always reliable and welcoming and a good breakfast. Decor now perhaps a litle more soulless, done to Booking.com spec - but everything clean and nice, so good value for the price.

Only stopped one night on business, booked in hassle free,nice clean bedding/clean room. Had a really good night's sleep and then ordered the breakfast on arrival which was a nice start to the day.I would stop again when passing.🙂👍Thanks

Three of us wanted a comfy play to stay close enough to walk into the city. Sportsview was ideal; clean, warm and perfect for our needs. Allan was so attentive and addressed all our needs. Breakfast was great, perfect poached eggs and good coffee. What more do you need? Definitely would stay again.

Conveniently located (we were going to a party at The White House up the road) and we managed to find free street parking nearby on Lake Street as the Sportsview car park was already full when we arrived. Our room was clean and quiet but it was on the top floor in the eaves and all the sloping ceilings made it feel small - had to be careful not to bang my head when getting out of bed or making a cup of tea. Having said that, the veggie breakfast was excellent: hot, fresh, generous and delicious - the breakfast of a pricier establishment.

Staff are very friendly and helpful needs a spruce up though as paint coming off , could of done with bigger towels and them changing also had to ask for more milk as only left 4 for the two days

We had a lovely welcome, parked the car,& checked in early as room was ready. The room was nice, and the triple room was a good size for 3 adults, we all slept like logs. We actually stayed at this place 20 years ago and decided to come back. The host is very accommodating and the place is lovely. It’s a very comfortable place to stay.

I stayed for a single evening and enjoyed my stay at the Sportsview Guest House. It was a clean room, with clean towels and toiletries laid out, in a nicely heated room that was quiet in the evening and night even though it was full, and to top it off, the price of the room included a nice cooked breakfast!.

Warm welcome great location and price

My friend and I rented a room with twin beds for the weekend.Advantages: great location (15min walk to the center, 25min to the train station), spacious room, very comfortable beds, very nice people at the reception, possibility to leave your luggages for a few hours when leaving the hotel, a view on the sports field, lot of storage, a desk and chair to study, a hairdryer, a kettle with tea/ coffee/ sugar/ milk, towels, soap.Drawbacks: noisy ventilation when the bathroom’s light is turned on, relatively busy road below the windows, no plugs next to the bed (4 plugs next to the desk and TV).Also we thought breakfast was included in the reservation but it isn’t the case, it’s an extra £10 per person per day.Overall it was a nice place and a good value for money.

The Sportsview was a great choice for my stay in Oxford. The reception, communication, and service were kind and effective. The room (en suite with two single beds) was precisely as advertised. The location is perfect - just a short walk from city center, while still being out of the bustle. I took advantage of breakfast just once but it was tasty and well served. I always found a spot in the parking lot, even when arriving late on a weekend night. This is an older facility but I found it clean, secure, and entirely suitable - and wonderful at the price.

Prior to our arrival we were given clear guidance relating to our booking and upon arrival we received a good briefing regarding the facilities. We enjoyed two very good breakfast meals and the service was both pleasant and efficient.

Hosts were very warm and welcoming, went through breakfast procedures thoroughly. Offered information for taxi/bus service into city centre. Breakfast was good, service was great. Limited parking but with being so close to the city centre car park was a bonus. Easy to get to city centre on foot or public transport. Bed was really comfy . For what we paid foe two people B and B for one night I have no complaints whatsoever. Initially I was a bit hesitant as the name suggested perhaps a sports bar with rooms, but the name derives from the fact it overlooks a sports field complete with a flock of early morning geese! Would stay here again

Very basis clean B&B white crisp bedding and fluffy white towels, plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. Tea and coffee tray.Lovely well presented breakfast. Off road parking which was our reason for choosing this accommodation. The staff (owners) were very polite and helpful.Recommendations: The entrance hall could do with updating, replace carpet in the bedroom, the bed wasn’t the most comfortable so one night was enough for us. When booking I would recommend that you confirm on suite because I noticed a separate bathroom and toilet on the landing so not sure if all rooms have en suite facilities.

All the amenities you would expect from a standard B and B but very clean and COVID conscious.Manager very helpful with directions and leaving the key in a secure box so that we could "check in" after an evening at the theatre.The real advantage of the Sportsview was the easy walk into the centre of Oxford (although the manager gave us information on buses and taxis) and the use of the car park from mid-day on check-in day to mid-day on check-out day, which allowed us to make good use of our time in Oxford.Didn't have breakfast and our room did experience traffic noise as it is on a busy road but that's the trade-off for the location.

The en suite single room I stayed one night was very comfy, clean and quiet. It had everyhing I needed. Plus, all the windows fronted onto the backyard, which was great!

That's all you really need, right? There are about 9-10 dedicated parking spaces so if you're lucky enough to get one, you definitely don't want to take your car out again so it's lucky that this place is no more than 20-25 minutes tops from anything you want to see.Our room was small but the bed was comfortable and there's so much to see in Oxford, it's not like we were planning to spend an awful lot of time in the room anyway so it was perfect. The shower is a bit small so it's a bit difficult for bigger people like me to maneuver but I managed to get the job done.Super quick, efficient check out. A positive experience all around!

one of the reasons i chose this B&B was that it had easy access from the southern ring road, a small car park which you can leave your car for the duration of your stay because it's about a 12 min walk to the Thames river & the city.Comfy bed and great breakfast (english or american plus all the usual buffet options).Friendly welcome and good advice to help with your stay.

Exactly what was expected from my stay at the guest house a clean and tidy basic room with its own wash facilities, tv and fan supplied. Ample space and beds where comfortable. Around a 20 minute trundle to Oxford town centre for food and bars. Would stay again and recommend to anyone.

Warm welcome, pleasant rooms, nice views and convenient for centre of Oxford. Only criticism - it could have been a bit cleaner. Certainly not dirty and it had obviously been cleaned but wasn't 'spotless'. Overall however a lovely place to stay.

Overnight stay while attending an all day event that started before check in times and finished well outside those times also.Owner was very accommodating and provided excellent service and ability for me to collect the key safely and securely, gaining access outside core check in.Room was very comfortable, clean and all essentials provided for.Only minor point I'd recommend would be to have a door on the separate toilet, but only as it is near the main door, which has frosted/patterned glass. You could still tell if someone chose to look close enough, if you see what I mean.Breakfast was plenty, choice of fruit, cereal or breads. Full English, well cooked, with choice of egg style.Would use again, on easy bus routes.

Just a really great place to stay. Firstly let me say that the guy on reception was very friendly and helpful.We had booked a triple room which was very clean bed very comfortable, shower was power shower with lots of hot water.Again let me say the room was of good size and very very clean ,the guess house its self is very close to the centre of Oxford so about 10/15 minutes walk to the centre if you are to stay in Oxford this is the place to stay let me say a big thank you to the staff.

Great little last minute find. Close enough to walk down to the city centre. Lower level room which was a bit cold for the wife, but on asking was provided with a oil filled radiator no problem at all. Bathroom was small but no issue. Clean and tidy hotel.

Arrived at 5pm and parking spaces available. Met at reception, given key, menu choice for breakfast and wifi codes. Top floor family room (for four), no lifts so carried cases up. Plenty of space in room, good size bathroom with shower, very clean and modern looking furniture. Many plug sockets. Arrived in heatwave (July) and had two fans in room as understandably no AC. Breakfast choices given via email, and full english was super, plus toast, tea fruit juice, cereal. Very good.Quiet location although on road, opposite playing fields. About 1 mile down from park and ride which is excellent value, or about 10 min walk max into centre.Really couldn't fault it. Friendly, organised set-up, clean and great location.

Spent 2 nights in the Sportsview Guesthouse. Ground floor room very cool and comfortable on an exceptionally hot weekend. Fan supplied but not needed. Room spotlessly clean and a fair size. However the ensuite Bathroom is a little small but fine for a short stay. Its a short walk to the town and also on a bus route with dozens of buses going into the centre if you dont want the fifteen minute walk. Also free car parking available on site. If visiting Oxford its the perfect place to stay if your budget is @£100 per night and this includes a pretty good breakfast from very friendly staff.

Comfy, clean accommodation, close to city centre. Our host couldn't have been more helpful. Cooked breakfast included in price as booked through own website. Parking limited to 9 spaces but this was never an issue over our 3-day stay.

This hotel was in the perfect location within 10 minute walking distance to the centre. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were nice and friendly on arrival and respected Covid safe procedures. The car park was handy too. Would stay again

Three of us were looking for somewhere to simply sleep for our weekend stay. I'd not stayed in a triplet before and the reviews were good so we decided to go for it. The beds were comfy and the room and en suite clean. We all got a little hot so were grateful for the fan. Good value for the price.

I stayed here with my sisters for one night. The room was clean and comfortable and the beds were nice. Our room faced the main road so it was quite noisy overnight. The staff were all very friendly and the manager was great when we had a query and resolved it straight away! Would stay again!

The room was spacious and comfortable. We appreciated that the key was left in a key safe for us as we were planning to arrive in the evening after reception closed following a 15 mile walk along the Thames Path. Lovely comfortable bed & loads of hot water.

As Buxton Strugglers cricket team we have stayed at the Sportsview for the past 33 years.They always look after us.It is very handy for the cricket grounds we play at,Queens College and BNC just over the road.Very well placed for a walk into the City Centre for food and a drink in the evening

When we are looking enough to return to Oxford, we will definitely be hoping to book the Sportsview again.The room was very comfortable and clean.The location is perfect, beside a lovely park and about half a mile walk from the city centre.We opted to book room only, but the smell of breakfast in the morning was amazing.

One of our few hotel stays in post-covid times, and it felt really good - the owners of the guest house had clearly thought hard about keeping things safe, and it really worked well.Also, very comfortable, excellent shower, and perfect location - easy walk to the city, but just far enough out to be practical to drive and park at the hotel.

We stayed as a group for one night. The rooms were spotless, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was accommodating and helped with taxis, the city's main attractions etc. I highly recommend Sportsview guest house to anyone!

Very happy with our stay. The room was very clean, bed comfy and a great shower. Location was also perfect, only a 10 min stroll from the town centre.

Stopped overnight as wanted a wander round Oxford and the area. Clean hotel spread over 3 buildings. Reception is in the middle one. Owner very pleasant and helpful. All covid secure. Great as it has parking. We were offered breakfast at £10 each but declined. Our room in building no 106, room 2 was large, it slept 3, it was very clean and towels and sheets were pure white. All in all a good place for a stopover in Oxford.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and our rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and overall great value for money and we look forward to returning later this year.

Booked here for 2 nights as we had previously stayed here 12 years ago. The place was just as welcoming, even with their covid safety procedures.We did have a small issue with the toilet in our first room, but they had us upgraded to the family room within 10 minutes.Always helpful through out our stay, whether it be cutlery for a takeout or recommendations for local cafes.Parking at rear was a real bonus and its no more than a 10 minute walk to city centre. But it is a bus route and they provide a number for a good taxi service.Hosts were both great and place was tidy and comfortable.Will return again.

We stayed here for two nights, and our room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was amazing. It was a great base for staying in Oxford, and really good value for money, which is everything you want when you are away. We will definitely rebook here.

Absolutely friendly atmosphere, makes you feel like you are visiting friend. Rooms clean and tidy with a very good quality of bedding set. Breakfast delicious.Very short disctance to the town centre.It was our weekend away to visit Cambridge and Oxford and it was perfect place to stay overnight. Parking for free behing the hotel. All that for £59!!!! Amazing.

The staff was friendly and professional. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was small but perfectly in order. The availability of the guest house car park for 24h was a great addition. The guest house is located at a nice 20 mins walk from the town centre, very close to Christ Church. The breakfast was good! Three choices available due to covid restrictions, all served at the table, plenty to start your day around Oxford. Very good price all round.

I came with my friend. Me and her liked the room. It's clean with new furniture. The toilet ensuite was very clean. In general all the places are clean the reception, stairs and the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious.A litte bit noisy because of the main road cars, even the view was amazing. These guys have got it smack on. On arrival it was made perfectly clear how everything was working at Sportsview in the current situation. Very strict guidelines to adhere to social distancing. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The room set up worked very well. Instead of cancelling the breakfast option altogether as some places had, Sportsview have continued and offer it as a takeaway breakfast bap with choice of filling and a brioche and piece offruit.Absolutely book this place you won’t regret it.Thank you for a lovely stay

Lovely small hotel, 10-15 minutes walk to the center. Very clean. The room isn't big but really functional. Great shower with excellent water pressure

Speedy and polite communication. Was made welcome on arrival and able to park and access room early. Clear information and a handy map of Oxford too. Quick, flat walking access to town centre with many amenities. Room was bigger than pictures showed with everything we needed. Fire doors were quiet closing which helped too. We had a lovely stay at Sports View. It was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The rooms were tidy, social distancing measures were really well done, the takeaway breakfast sandwiches were great, and the location was brilliant for a gentle walk into town. We were very happy with our stay :)

The room is not big. The sandwich is good and the service is nice.

I was in Oxford for two nights for work and needed an affordable hotel not too far from the city centre. The Sportsview fitted the bill perfectly. Quiet room, pleasant view, private bathroom with good shower. Would definitely consider staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay, our host were very caring. Under restrictive times, Covid 19 . Our breakfast were great. And would stay again. My only minus is that to go in there are steps. My mobility isn’t good at the moment.

This was a perfect one night stopover for us walking the Thames Path from source to London. Spoiled only by a couple of inconsiderate neighbours making too much noise too early.

The Sportsview exceeded all of our modest expectations.The location was superb. Just 10 minutes walk from the centre of the city, but this is just far enough out so the traffic is relatively quiet. We even managed to get a space in their free car park.The breakfast selection was decent, with lightning-fast service with a smile.Rooms were very clean.Wi-fi was super fast, and available everywhere in the building.In fact I can't think of a single bad thing to say!

My sister and me had a fabulous stay at Sportsview Guesthouse. It was comfortable and warm and breakfast was super tasty and kept us going until teatime. We walked a lot in the day so coming back to our comfortable room was much needed. We had a great 4 days. Ford was a great host and made sure our stay was a happy one. Thank you.

Excellent host, well organised, clean and tidy rooms, tea making facilities and the shower is nice and powerful and good hot water.Thought the breakfast was small to begin with but actually when you have cereals or the many other things before the cooked breakfast it was very filling, they cooked the breakfast anyway we wanted it and it was tasty, fresh mushrooms and the poached eggs were perfect every time. Would definitely recommend this place, you wont be disappointed.

Charming guest house, spotlessly clean, lovely bedroom with everything necessary, great towels and hair dryer, coffee, tea and biscuits. It was all perfect. The man at reception( forgot to ask his name) carried my bags upstairs and was very kind and helpful. The location is wonderful, a ten minute stroll along a lovely street to the city centre. I will definitely come back!!

The location was perfect. It was a 10 minute to the shops and attractions. Rooms were simple yet comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. My husband loved the scrambled eggs and he is very particular about that. We were greeted warmly at check in. Would stay there again.
